The homeowner's existing deck, showing its age, was clearly past its prime. Faced with the choice of repair and integration with a new design or a fresh start, they opted for the latter. This decision was simplified by their ambitious plans for a new swimming pool, pool house, fireplace, bar, and grill—a complete outdoor entertainment and relaxation space. The goal was to create the perfect venue for weekend relaxation, casual gatherings, post-game celebrations with the children's sports teams and entertaining friends and colleagues.

During construction, we prioritized a cohesive aesthetic, using the same brick as the house for the pool house. This material was also incorporated as a soldier course in the patio, banding around the bar, and as the primary material for the fireplace pillars. These design choices create the illusion that the new structures were original to the house, rather than later additions, resulting in a unified and timeless outdoor living area.
